AVF Announces a significant MOU between National Information Technology Development Agency and Greens&Berries Farm Limited

The Association for Vertical Farming (AVF) is pleased to announce a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between National Information Technology Development Agency, a public service institution under the Federal Ministry of Communications Innovation and Digital Economy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Greens&Berries Farm Limited acting for itself and on behalf of the Association for Vertical Farming E.V.(AVF) and the Swedish company Grow Pipes AB.  This partnership symbolizes a major step forward in AVF’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable and innovative agricultural practices globally.

AVF is the leading global organization for raising awareness and connecting all stakeholders to advance the implementation of vertical farming. AVF wishes to establish vertical farming in Nigeria under the auspices of a project known as Vertical Farming in Africa for Innovation in agriculture and resilience of local communities (“VFAI”). In this regard Greens&Berries Farm has been nominated as its National Partner and Grow Pipes as the Technology Partner.

This Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) focuses on the implementation of the following major activities: 

  1. Development and set-up of regional Training & Demonstration Centres (TDCs) 
  2. Capacity building in each of the TDCs 
  3. Demonstrative food and fodder production in association with each TDCs 
  4. Building up regional supply centers 
  5. Collaboration with regional stakeholders for the implementation of vertical farming

Through the PPP in Nigeria, AVF will start its strategic plan to implement vertical farming training centers throughout  Africa. 

This partnership between Greens&Berries Farm and NITDA is an important development for both organizations and the global indoor/vertical farming industry at large. It exemplifies AVF’s commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and technological innovation in the field.
